It’s me again! It’s been forever since I’ve blogged. Life has been so busy, and I am so exhausted! Last time I checked-in, I mentioned I am running a marathon and well, that has taken over my life, no joke!
Well, thank-goodness that my marathon is next week, November 10th, tapering week starts right about NOW and so my time commitment to this event, will be less strenuous and demanding. I will get back to a semi-normal life and be able to share my travel life and D.C. adventures with you.
So, let me re-introduce myself to everyone and share a bit about me.
I am M.J., a D.C. resident, runner, fitness and wellness enthusiast, part-time traveler, full-time Project Manager, history geek, meme obsessed lady, aunty, sister, daughter and fur-baby-mother to 2 wonderful little Shih-Tzus, Bear & Mac.
I am a lover of culture and in 2017 decided that I want to travel the world and learn about this planet. 2018 has been very good to my travel life. I’ve been fortunate enough to travel to Paris, Belgium, Mexico (twice), Texas, New York and the year is not yet over. I have 3 more trips under my sleeve before taking the last week of December off to get some much-needed rest. My 2019 calendar is already popping, with a set 3-week vacation to various countries in the Middle East and Europe in the month of April and 2 trips to different states within the United States earlier in the year. I am certainly very grateful that I have been able to accomplish so much in the last 12-months and I look forward to receiving many more blessings in the upcoming year.
So…is this the only thing I do, run and travel? Well, good thing you asked. The answer is NO. As any hard-working American, I hold down a full-time job in Project Management, which can be very demanding yet rewarding; I am also a Job-Interview Coach and pretty good at it; I am a single gal and I have no children (nor is it in my plans to ever be a parent to a human being). I am a lover of food, all types of music, a survivor of trying to give up on life, purple and pink are my favorite colors, a hard-core coffee and champagne lover. I have a small but cozy and beautiful condo in the Capitol Hill area, with an amazing walk to all the best places in D.C. and museums. When I am not traveling or exploring D.C., I enjoy staying home reading books or organizing things around. I am currently documenting my fitness life (www.instagram.com/leap_of_fitness) and after this marathon is complete, I plan on working on PR’s, the Chicago Marathon is in the works for 2019 and hopefully one day be able to qualify for Boston, as well as complete all 6-world major marathons. I am a believer that anyone, at any age can be fit. Size and weight do not matter!
This is my life! This is me! These are my passions! Living the best version of my life according to me and doing what sets my soul on fire!
I hope that my blog brings you a new perspective into the many things the world and D.C. have to offer. 💜
